Leadership requires resolve, courage and boldness – but also, as we see from the Book of Ruth, compassion. In my pre-Shavuot address at Garden’s shul, I discuss the failings of the South African government in this area, particularly in view of the power crisis, as well as how we can exercise compassionate leadership in our personal lives.
I wish you all a wonderful, inspiring chag. And may Hashem bless the people of South Africa with the compassionate leaders we deserve.
